Carved Tuareg Bowl - Mali
These hand-carved wooden Tuareg bowls are referred to as bazawat and are used by the nomadic Tuareg people of Mali to store and transport food easily. The bowl's side has detailed carvings that identify the clan and owner. You would see these bowls used at traditional Tuareg dinners where everyone often eats from a big communal serving bowl. In a modern context these one-of-kind bowls are perfect for display on a bookshelf, dining table or behind glass in a cabinet.
