The African Bamileke stool is named after the Bamileke tribe from Cameroon's lowlands. The stool is instantly identifiable as a work of art with its crosshatch engraved sides and construction from a single tree trunk. The stools are emblems of affluence, authority, and customary values among the tribe and today they can be used as a side table, seating or purely as an ornamental piece for indoors or out.
