Based on the Chinese coolie (kuli) hat worn for sun protection by agricultural laborers, the light shade is made from rattan woven in much the same way as a basket. The light shade complements interiors which rely on texture for impact, such as all-white rooms and small spaces. But it is suitable for all decorating styles, especially those with a casual ambiance.
