This stunning vintage chest would have been owned and used by a travelling performer whilst touring. The incredible design features many small compartments on a top layer of storage, used to organise make-up, hair accessories and other small personal belongings. These top compartment tray can then be removed to reveal a more spacious storage area for storing elaborate costumes. 

Though it doesn’t make for the most useful luggage these days, it does make for an ingenious, novel and conversation-starting storage solution.

Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials. Occasionally, apply a protective coating such as wax or oil to feed the timber and protect it from moisture and stains. Do not place hot or wet items directly on, or drag or slide objects across the timber surface.
